Vivian Minnie (Cook) Sims Akins died at her home in Stillwater, Okla. on Monday May 17, 1999.

Services will be held in Strode Chapel on Friday May, 21, 1999 with Jerry Kruckenburgofficiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Akins was born Dec. 31, 1923 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Samuel Wilburn and Rosa Bell (Hancock) Cook. She attended schools in Tahlequah and Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

On Aug. 28, 1939 she married James Robert Sims who died in 1949.

She married Herman Cornell "Carl Akins in June 1953 in Tulsa, Okla. Mr. Akins died in 1988.

In 1963 Mrs. Akins moved to Enid, Okla. where she remained until 1984 at which time she moved to Stillwater, Okla.  

In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by one son Jerry James Sims, three brothers, Murriel Leo Cook, Donald Rae Cook and Marion Park Cook, two sisters, one grandson, Carl Dean Dwinell, one granddaughter Rhonda Kay Woods, and one Great granddaughter Ashley.

Survivors include, three (actually only 2) sons, Wendell Robert Sims of OK, Ira Earl Sims of OK and 6 daughters, Mrs. Stella Simsof Calif., Mrs. Naomi Sims Eubanks of OK. Leola Sims Choate of OK. Mrs. Sandra Warrington of OK. Mrs. Roberta Sims Babbs of OK. and Mrs. Glenda Sue Akins Warren of KS. 45 Grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren, four brothers, Samuel Wilburn Cook, Jr. of Miami, Ok. Carl Eugene Cook of Okla. City, Ok., Charles Luther Cook of Stillwater, Ok. and William Arthur Cook of Grand Prairie, Tx. Two sisters, Mrs Ruth Ann Cook Bogar White of Neb. and Mrs. Betty Jean Cook Tautfest of OK.

Pallbearers are grandsons, David Dennis, Murl Ray Medley, Jr. Robert Dwinell, Wayne Eldon Medley, Steven Dittmeyer and Billy Joe Dwinell Honorary pallbearers are Gene Babb and Ray Babb, Jr.

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Sandra Marie Warrington are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at New Covenant Fellowship with Dale Barnes officiating. Interment is to be at 3 p.m. at Little Cemetery in Seminole County under the direction of Strode Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Warrington died Monday, April 23, 2001 at her residence in Perkins at the age of 52. She was born May 15, 1948 in Stillwater of Robert and Vivian M. (Cook) Sims. Warrington attended schools in Stillwater, Ponca City, Enid, and Seminole during her childhood.
She married Wayne Warrington on Dec. 3, 1966 in Enid.
An avid bowler, she was a member of many leagues in several of which she represented Stillwater. She enjoyed crocheting and was very actively involved in her church, New Covenant Fellowship. Warrington was a homemaker and a member of Stillwater Moose Lodge #2089.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Jerry Sims.
Warrington is survived by her husband of the home; one son, Rob Warrington of Jenks; one daughter, Chantel Doutey of Yale; two brothers, Wendell Sims of Stillwater, and Earl Sims of Blackwell; five sisters, Glenda Warren of Baxter Springs, Kan., Naomi Eubank of Enid, Leola Choate of Enid, Roberta Babb of Holdenville, and Stella Smallwood of Silverado, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
