Rachel Augusta Kerby age 94 of Santa Anna passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 8:30pm at Coleman County Medical Center. Services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Marvin Hale officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. The family will receive friends Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6 till 7pm at Henderson Funeral Home. Rachel was born November 10, 1914 in Tah Le Quah, Indian Territory, Oklahoma to the late William Asa and Amanda Barbara Cook Sissom. She was raised in Coleman County and graduated from Glen Cove Schools. On July 26, 1947 Rachel married Clarence Herbert Kerby in Abilene, Texas and they celebrated thirty six years of marriage. Clarence preceded her in death in 1983. She was a resident of Abilene until moving to Santa Anna in 2001. Rachel was a homemaker and member of the Northside Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing and was a loving mother and grandmother. SURVIVORS: 4 Grandchildren - Jimmy & wife Felicia Ellerbe of Santa Anna, Texas, Bryan & wife Amanda Ellerbe of Santa Anna, Texas, Mike & wife Lisa Ellerbe of Palestine, Texas, Mark & wife Sonya Ellerbe of Midland, Texas; Sister - Bill Roland of Early, Texas; 10 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Rachel was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Ellerbe and by 8 Sisters & Brothers. .
